Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will show you exactly what the robot completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-filling.
The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available and comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a good method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's a plethora of settings available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
